Terms & Conditions
Payment Terms
50% deposit is due upon estimate approval. The remaining balance must be paid in full on the scheduled installation date. Even if a follow-up visit is required to complete adjustments or service the next day, full payment is still due on the day of initial installation. Installation may be delayed if final payment is not received.
Lead Times
All products are custom manufactured. Lead times are estimates based on typical production schedules and may vary by product.
Patio shades and custom drapery typically require 4–8 weeks for production. Other product categories may have shorter or longer timelines depending on complexity and supplier availability.
Delays can occur due to manufacturing capacity, shipping logistics, backordered materials, supplier timelines, or weather.
Refunds or cancellations are not available due to lead time delays.
If your order includes multiple products, installation will be scheduled once all items have arrived.
Scope of Work
The scope of your project includes the shade(s) and installation details listed in your approved quote
and design selections. Customers are not responsible for verifying measurements — Elevated Shades or
our approved measure technicians handle that. Any work or materials not specifically listed in your
estimate or installation notes are not included in scope. Elevated Shades is not responsible for
pre-existing structural issues, surface inconsistencies (uneven walls, concrete, brick, stucco, etc.),
electrical wiring conditions, or non-square openings leading to light gaps. If additional framing,
shimming, electrical work, or adjustments are required beyond normal installation, additional charges
may apply and will be discussed prior to work.
Electrical
Some shades use low-voltage motors and can be connected directly onsite. For hardwired (AC) motor
systems, a licensed electrician is required to connect wiring to power. If an electrician is not present at
install, Elevated Shades may temporarily power motors using an extension cord for programming.
Permanent power connection must be completed after install by a licensed electrician.
Gaps
Shades and frames are manufactured square. Openings that are out-of-square may result in visible gaps.
Brushes, tracks, or frame build-outs may reduce but cannot always eliminate gaps. Additional materials
or labor for gap mitigation may incur added cost if not stated in the original estimate.
Shade Seams
On large shade sizes, some fabrics require a seam. Seams are placed high and kept as minimal as
possible. Seams are not considered a defect.
Brick / Stone / Stucco
Minor surface drilling or grinding may be performed if needed. If significant cutting, masonry
modification, or structural build-out is required, a separate masonry contractor may be needed at
customer’s cost.
Scheduling
A decision-making adult must be onsite during installation. If no one is available, installation may be
rescheduled. Rescheduling may also occur due to weather, supplier delays, or unforeseen conditions.
We will communicate changes as early as possible.
Furniture & Access
Installers cannot move furniture, wall decor, appliances, grills, or other items. Please clear the work
area before installation.
Smart Hubs & WiFi
We will set up motors and pair shades to remotes/hubs. However, we do not troubleshoot WiFi,
routers, mesh networks, or signal issues. For advanced home automation integration, an AV
professional may be required.
Fabric & Material Characteristics
Minor wrinkles in fabric are normal and will relax over time. Color variations between samples and
final product are possible due to lighting, dye lots, and texture.
Warranties
Workmanship Warranty: All installations performed by Elevated Shades are covered under our
workmanship warranty. If an issue arises due to faulty installation, Elevated Shades will repair or
correct the issue at no cost to the customer. This warranty does not cover damage caused by third
parties, misuse, or changes to the installation area after install.
Product Warranty: Our shades include a limited lifetime warranty that covers defects in materials or
manufacturing. This warranty does not cover weather-related damage (hail, high winds, storms,
freezing, flooding, etc.), physical or mechanical force damage (pets, children, impact, misuse), or
normal wear, fading, or aging.
Motor Warranty: Motors used in our shade systems are backed by a 5-year manufacturer warranty
covering defects— not damage from power surges, incorrect wiring, water exposure, misuse, or impact.
Outdoor Use & Weather Responsibility: Outdoor shades must be retracted during high winds or
storms. Failure to retract during severe conditions may result in damage not covered by warranty.
Service Calls After Warranty Period: Service calls, adjustments, or repairs not covered by warranty
may be billed at standard rates.
